Christmas Party!

This year’s Christmas Party is going to be Friday, December 19, 2008 at 6PM at Pastor Tim and Melinda’s. This is also a big “THANK YOU!” to the New Life Drama Team for all their hard work that went into Fall Festival this year. We’ll be indulging in the time-honored Christmas tradition of Dirty Santa - bring a $10 gift with you if you want to play. We’ll also be doing the drawing for the iPod Giveaway and you have to be present to be eligible to win! Come hang out for food, fun, and games - see you there!

Cornerstone Life Church would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.

We would also like to extend our appreciation once again to all the people who worked tirelessly to make this year’s Christmas Play happen. It was amazing and sure to have touched the hearts of all in attendance.

During this time of presents, dinners, and visits we want to encourage everyone to remember why we celebrate this holiday, this holy day. We are remembering the greatest act of love a Father could show us in sending His only son, Jesus Christ. Without this powerful act of love and sacrifice, none of us could know the love and relationship with the Father we are now privileged to if we’ll only believe.

We love and praying for you. May God richly bless each and every one of you.

Shrill Faith for the Nighttime

Psalm 30:4-11; Luke 18:1-8

1. Nighttime is a time of threat, danger, and anxiety
2. God works in the nighttime
   Ps 30:4 “Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name.”
   Ps. 30:5 “For God’s anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
   Ps. 30:9 “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
   Ps. 30:10 “Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me! O Lord, be my helper!”
3. Then we wake up and it is no longer nighttime
   Ps. 30:11-12 “You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.”
   A NEW
   - Life
   - Day
   - Chance
   God will always override the nightmare
4. Bring your nightmare to God and insist that he deals with it
   Luke 18:1 “Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.”
